2007
A full 120 people played our competition this year at Cams Hall Estate Golf Club. Our first ever fully sold out event. 30 teams, at the clubs capacity.
Local Express FM (93.7) radio presenter and Portsmouth News columnist, Heather James was there armed with her recording kit and pen and paper to record and capture events of the day. The majority of her Saturday programme was about our day and her column in the paper, totally HHGS. Thank you Heather.
Our thanks go to Yvonne Frampton, Rachel Osgood, Catherine Kirby, Geraldine Hamilton, Julie and Helen from the Rainbow Trust. To Tommy, Mark, Jon, Brian, Adrian, Matt and Pete who helped set the day up. Without the above, this event would not have happened.
We had two nearest the pin holes and two longest drive holes. Sensibly, we arranged for two tee starts which alleviated the delays considerably.
A wonderfully warm and balmy afternoon, height of summer it should be said, and everybody able to get round in the daylight with plenty of time to spare. The course was in superb condition and apart from a hiccup over buggies, all ran totally smoothly. Jon Gane and Adrian Knight were the Tee announcers on the 10th and 1st respectively.
Afterwards a sumptuous meal and top class entertainment from our local celebrity friend, Shep Woolley, who also conducted our prize auction.
